“Holacracy” (Definition at Wikipedia) is an experimental organizational structure. But the experiment seems to be working. It’s an idea with traction and worth understanding.
Particularly, Holacracy is interesting for it’s inherent reduced requirement for management. The lack of managers impacts Org Charts, saves money, time and political pain. Importantly — Holacracy is noted for more democratic forms of organizational governance.
What fascinates us is – if you’ve ever been involved with a Company Vision and Purpose development effort – you’ll know how difficult it would be to take a company to this kind of “management.”
